Accommodations

Whether you are planning on only spending one night on Caye Caulker or an entire month, you will need to book accommodations prior to arriving in Belize.
The two properties we use exclusively are Seaside Cabanas and Lazy Iguana Bed & Breakfast.
Both properties are beautiful, but each is unique.
Seaside Cabanas is a Beachfront Boutique Hotel with a fresh water swimming pool. Each room has Air Conditioning, TV and DVD player as well as a mini fridge. The Beachfront cabañas have ground floor entrances with an exterior staircase leading to a private Rooftop Palapa. Stunning views, excellent breezes, very romantic! (16 rooms, 36 persons maximum occupancy)
Lazy Iguana Bed & Breakfast is an Intimate B & B surrounded by a colorful tropical garden. The Guest Rooms are Air Conditioned and all have private bathrooms. Breakfast is served in a sunny kitchen and includes tropical fruits and juices, fresh baked pastries and eggs cooked your way. (5 rooms, 11 persons maximum occupancy)

Beach Weddings

If you are coming to Caye Caulker to get married, then chances are you are planning on a Beach Wedding.
While Casual Beach Weddings are the most common, you can also plan on something a bit more formal. 
A Casual Beach Wedding  consist of a Justice of the Peace, the Bride and Groom, and your family and friends gathered around. 
A Formal Beach Wedding would involve everything from a casual wedding, but would also include Chairs, an Aisle for the Bride to walk down, Flower and Music.
A second item for you to decide on is the time of day. Do you want a Morning Wedding, Afternoon Wedding or Sunset Wedding Ceremony?

Rooftop Palapa
Additional Locations

In addition to Beach Weddings, you can also consider a few other unique locations.
 On the top floor of the Lazy Iguana B & B is a Rooftop Palapa with a 360 degree view of Caye Caulker. The view is incredible. This is a special, intimate location for a Wedding Ceremony.

While flowers are seasonal, here are a few of the most common flowers available in Belize.
Bougainvillea come in a few different varieties, but the most common are Pink, Coral, Purple, and White. The flowers grow in large bunches and the colors are very vibrant. They are excellent flowers for bouquets and decorations. No scent.
Hibiscus are also very common, but come in more colors than we could possible list. The flowers are large, but are fairly delicate and some do close at night. They are great flowers to use in mixed flower arrangements. No scent
Periwinkles grow like weeds. You can find them everywhere. The flowers are small. The two most common colors are white and purple, but purple seems to be more common than white. No scent.

For a memorable Wedding Reception, we use one of the finest restaurants in Belize, Habaneros.

"HABANEROS: Although the name suggests a Mexican joint, the menu here goes beyond Mexican fare. You can get homemade pastas and Thai coconut curries, as well as Brazilian pork. You can also get spicy fajitas made of beef, chicken or jerk pork. The nightly specials tend to be inventive takes on whatever fresh fish and seafood has been caught that day. Heavy wooden tables are spread across the pleasant open-air wraparound veranda of this raised-stilt wooden home right on Front Street."

Habaneros Restaurant prides itself on having an internationally trained chef to cater to your delicate pallet. They offer fine dining with wines from around the world, yet locally caught fresh fish and seafood. Even the breads and tortillas are made fresh daily. Enjoy hand-made pasta or one of their vegetarian dishes. Each available meal is designed to be a special experience! 
All seating is outdoors on a covered wrap-around patio. Beautiful ambiance, professional staff, and excellent food make this an ideal choice for your Wedding Reception. (maximum capacity: 55 adults)

Gnocchi Fresco Prima Vera
Fresh Gnocchi Pasta is tossed with our Pan-cooked Seasonal Veggies, White Wine & Feta
Coconut Encrusted Snapper with Shrimp
Fresh Local Snapper Fillet is dredged in Coconut and pan-fried. We top it with a Tropical Fruit Compound Butter and bake it in the Oven. Served with a Tropical Fruit Glaze on the side.
Seafood Satay
Skewers of Fresh Fish & Shrimps are marinated with Wild Oregano & Garlic then Pan-Grilled. Paired with a Spicy Ginger Peanut Sauce. Served along side Aromatic Rice.
Brazilian Grilled Pork
Center cut Pork Chop is marinated in Brazilian inspired Herbs & Spices  and  Charbroiled with  Cinnamon & All Spice.  Served with Veggies, Roasted Potatoes, and Tropical Rice.


An alternate location for your reception is Seaside Cabañas Pool and Courtyard. If your Wedding Party is booking 10 or more rooms at Seaside Cabañas, you may opt to have your reception outside, under the stars! The courtyard is white sand with a swimming pool and bar. Food is catered by Habaneros Restaurant. Live music can be arranged. (maximum capacity: under 100 adults. The courtyard is not covered making weather a factor in your decision.)

Your Live Music choices are very unique to Belize. There is a 25 piece Steel Drum Band that put on an incredible show. They really get everyone up dancing! There is also a Dance Troup that will put on performances with local music...many dances are about Belizean Culture and are very colorful and fun to watch. There are also Drummers, usually 4 - 6 guys, playing traditional garfuna drums. They always draw a crowd. And there are a few guitar players, some that will stroll playing Spanish Guitar, and some that will play more Rock 'n' Roll tunes.

If music and entertainment aren't high on your list of priorities, then recorded music played over a stereo system can be easily arranged. Either bring your own music, or let us know what type of music you would like played and we will do our best to have a good selection to keep you and your guests entertained for hours.

Our Photographer is Lee Vanderwalker, an international artist that owns her own gallery on Caye Caulker. She has an eye for photography and is sure to capture your beautiful day in pictures that you will cherish for a lifetime. 
Whether you have allowed room in your budget for a professional photographer or not, Disposable Cameras are always a great idea to capture candid shots of your Wedding Reception. You can't be in more than one place at a time, so you are going to miss out on a few things. With Disposable Cameras, your friends and family can help you capture every detail of your special day. NOTE: Keep in mind however, that Disposable Cameras are not a replacement for a real Photographer. If you are hoping to enlarge some pictures and put them in frames, only a professional photographer can ensure the quality of your pictures..
